Chicago's Stress Positions are a band who are best compared to themselves. The masterminds behind the music were members of C.H.E.W., but while cut from the same cloth, Stress Positions is an entirely different monster. Vocalist Stephanie Brooks provides a style that is both ferocious and crystal clear, along with parts that range from a soft, sing-songy melody to the venomous, in-your-face belting one would expect from a hardcore frontperson. This approach at vocals, along with the biting sound of the backing music, provide proof as to why Stress Positions is one of the best bands currently playing in Chicago.
