about

UNIDAD IDEOLÓGICA is a band that needs no introduction. After hearing “Guerra y Negocio” on 2021’s LA MASACRE CONTINUÁ benefit compilation, we were blown away by the ferocity and intensity of this Bogotá four-piece. Their MLP, which was released on LA VIDA ES UN MUS later that year, blew us away.

For anyone who may be unfamiliar with this album, it starts off like the seconds preceding the Big Bang: a tightly-packed ball of energy emitting the audible-equivalent of gamma rays warring against containment before erupting into galaxies birthed from the forefathers of Japanese and Italian hardcore. The thunderous drums are complemented by the harsh, borderline-metal guitar and ferocious bass lines. All this is topped by barking, maniacal vocals discussing technology, fear, and authority. These topics and the delivery contribute immensely to the overall sound, morphing the music into what could easily be played as a brand of punk that could easily be an alternative soundtrack to “TETSUO: THE IRON MAN.”

This album is a whole-ass force. Don’t fight it, let ideological unity envelop you.
